This is the heart of the series.
An experience where ritual, craft, and memory are distilled into a single bottle.
Led by a third-generation Maestro Mezcalero and their family team, this Day of the Dead experience opens the doors to one of Oaxaca’s most revered traditions: artisanal mezcal making, shared not as a demonstration, but as a lived inheritance.
The day unfolds slowly and intentionally. You’ll begin by sharing a traditional Oaxacan lunch, prepared and enjoyed together, grounding the experience in the flavors and rhythms of the season. From there, the Maestro guides you through the mezcal process—agave, fire, time, patience—and explains how mezcal becomes an essential offering during Day of the Dead, connecting land, ancestors, and celebration.
Then comes the rarest moment:
Guests will create their own mezcal distillation, infused with seasonal fruits—the same fruits used to adorn altars during this sacred time. These fruits carry symbolism of abundance, life, and remembrance, transforming the mezcal into a true ofrenda líquida.
Your mezcal will be distilled, bottled, and labeled as a special edition, made only during this season and only by those present. You’ll take your bottle home—an irreplaceable expression of Oaxaca, ancestry, and your own participation in the ritual.
This is not a tasting.
This is not a workshop.
This is mezcal as memory, created by hand, guided by lineage, and meant to be remembered forever.
Date: Saturday, October 31st
Duration: 7 hours
